Dr. Aristidis Samitas is Vice Rector of Finance and Development at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Professor of Finance at the Department of Business Administration, in the School of Economics and Political Sciences. Previously he has been a Professor in the Department of Business Administration, University of the Aegean, for 20 years. He is a graduate of the Department of Economics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, holder of a Master's Degree MSc in Money, Banking and Finance from Birmingham University in Great Britain and of a PhD in Finance from the Department of Economics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has been a Post Doctoral research fellow in Finance at City University, London. He served as Chairman of the Department of Finance at Zayed University, UAE. He is Associate Editor in the International Journal of Finance and Economics. He has published extensively in many highly ranked journals such as the Journal of Econometrics, the European Journal of Finance, the Journal of International Financial Markets Institutions and Money, the International Review of Financial Analysis, Applied Financial Economics, the International Journal of Finance and Economics, Small Business Economics and elsewhere. His scientific interests are in the areas of Finance, Business Analysis and Management, Econometrics, Portfolio Management, Financial Crises and Business Strategy.
